Artifacts

I will use this wall organizer with pockets to hold phones. Before the class begins, each student will put their phones and earphones in the pockets and they will get calculators from the pockets.
In this way, I can avoid distraction from electronics and address misbehaviors effectively. If one student doesn't follow it, I can immediately see and confirm with the student, then I will give appropriate consequences based on classroom rules.
This list will be posted on the side of the board, I will write down students' names next to the matching consequences during the class.
This will help me save class time and control class flow because I don't need to stop and correct students' misbehaviors. I will mention them at the end of the class. For administration referral, it will be done immediately.

I will put one chair(left) away from the class and make it as a cool-down zone. Because it is in high schools, it doesn't need to be colorful. While students are in the zone, I will simply ask them to write answers to 5 questions in the reflection writing(right).
I think to use the cool-down zone can help students control their emotions without disturbing other students. And using reflective writing can help students fix problems on their own and be self-responsible.

The example shows the letter I will write to contact parents. I will always include the reflective writing to inform parents about the situation better.
Based on my consequence chart, I will contact parents based on how serious the situation is. I want to involve parents as much as I can so I will build a comprehensive community support for kids.
